Personal Statement
Margret Eifler began her professional career at Stanford and came to Rice in 1973. From 1990 to 1996 she served as chair of the department. Her areas of interest encompass the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with a special emphasis on the novel, post-GDR literature, and European film studies.
